JPEGmicro will take JPEG images and it will optimize them – and more to the point, it will take the JPEG images that you select and it will “crunch” them so they take up less storage space. On top of that, JPEGmicro can take JPEG images and strip them clean of EXIF & XMP data.

JPEGmicro is available as a portable version and as an installer. If you get the portable version, you won’t have to install JPEGmicro on your PC; if you get the installer, you will have to go through a simple installation procedure. It must be mentioned here that JPEGmicro provides support for any Windows edition from Windows 7 onward.

JPEGmicro has a dark-themed interface that is quite good looking. Not only is the interface good looking, it is easy to use as well. As a matter of fact, it is so easy to use that I’m confident that even novice computer users will quickly get the hang of things.

Using JPEGmicro is a very straightforward 3-step process:
Step 1 – load some JPEG images into the application. You can do so by using the Add File function (click the + button from the upper left hand corner) or by dragging and dropping them onto JPEGmicro’s interface.
Step 2 – pick if you want to remove EXIF & XMP data, set the lossy compression level, play with some other optional settings.
Step 3 – click the Optimize button and let JPEGmicro do its thing. It will process the JEG images you selected and reduce their size.

JPEGmicro is free software. You won’t have to part with your hard earned money to use this tool.

JPEGmicro works as advertised. It takes JPEG images, optimizes them, and reduces their size.

None that I could think of. Tip You may want to check out Romeolight Software's PhotoResizer as well.
